Small Unframed Color Collages on Paper
These collages are made traditionally with paper, scissors and glue. Drawing from sources as diverse as vintage magazines, art history books, auction catalogs, crafting books, and found photos, I play with shapes, colors, scale and textures not to tell a story but to infer a fragmented narrative. Started in 2014, there are well over 200 collages (and counting) in this series inspired by, and often paired with, poems by Sappho, e.e. cummings, Michaelangelo, Shakespeare and others.
